Spring Break DAY FOUR: picacho peak

This morning we did some quick chores and then packed lunches and headed out to Picacho Peak for a picnic and a hike. We always play at the playground and go up to the children's cave. It was pretty packed. This year they charged Evelynn as an adult, Richard spent a total of a half hour on the toilet, and Lindy took the biggest diarhea dump on the trail. It was Bucky's first time, and we all made it out alive. Stopped in Casa Grande to get some Sonic and ALMOST drove by our old house to reminisce. Some kids voted not to because they thought it would be too painful and take too much time. I kind of wish we had done it anyway. I missed my exit and we took forever to get home, but it was a lovely day and I felt happy with our time together... for the most part. there were a few fights in the car.

when we got home, we tidied up and ate the dinner my mom had made. then we had family night. I really liked this quote:

then after eating cookies, we made a banner for Jeff's return this week. The night was still young, so I chose to take them to the park before bed.

things are tumultuous and imperfect, but right now I have inner peace. I am going to be okay. I just have to turn to the Lord. Jeff accepted a job in Indiana and it looks like that is where we are headed next. He bought tickets for us to fly there and pick out a house. it's all happening. I've notified family and friends and I have lots of feelings. So much is happening and there is so much to do. I feel like now that I am finally moving, it gives me a chance to step back and feel gratitude for the life I live.
