friday eve

I was so tired this morning. I spent about a half hour debating whether to pursue the day as outlined or rebel and seek more sleep. I ended up with a hybrid.

Miraculously, and I mean... I DID NOT SEE IT COMING, I got everyone to school on time.

Ebenezer did some Montessori work with my mom and added his flare with dinosaurs and cars. Today I tried to do a mini speech session with him. we practiced the word/sound/sign for bird, cat, and dog. He is the best at signing cats and meowing.

James and I did homeschool, and much to my delight, he read the entire book today (usually we alternate pages) and asked if we could do science again today (we usually only do it on Mondays). I am a sucker for quality time and gladly gave in.
today's science lesson was on animals and their offspring. the challenge at the end was to build a pig pen for nine pigs. He used playdough and toothpicks for his Lego pigs.

After picking up Richard from preschool, I did NOT want to do the HUGE pile of dishes, let alone get dinner made (I had a casserole to compile). I procrastinated with laundry and then dove into the disgusting dish situation. I felt so accomplished afterward, even though my kids watched TV the whole time... ugh. It has to get better, but whatever. I'm doing the best I can for now. Baby steps toward my goals and dreams.
I made the casserole, did a bit of math homework, and then Gladys came home and we rounded up to go pick up the school kids.

Once I was home... oh man. SLEEP WAS CALLING ME. I laid down for a bit and Ebenezer went to town on my four boxes of math flashcards.

The day was chilly but I went out front for a bit to watch Richard drive his McQueen car and Ebenezer pushed his dump truck. Then we tidied up and had dinner before diving into baths and homework.
I left Sally and Evelynn in charge, though, because my mom and I needed to take Roger to a piano rehearsal. we grabbed a treat afterward.

once everyone was "settled", I left again to walk with my childhood friend, Rachel. my feet adored every minute of my new orthotics. it's reaching a point where I don't want them to be off. I called Jeff on my drive home. we made it through another day.

now I am letting the girls enjoy a movie and ice cream(they don't have school tomorrow) as a payment for babysitting and doing so much for me tonight. and I am going to bed.
